Founded in 2001, the charity focuses on outreach and intervention for young people between 15 and 25 who are at risk of isolation, exploitation, violence, and crime.
During her visit, the Princess was welcomed by founder Darren Way and expressed her appreciation for community spaces that foster creativity, describing them as “truly valuable.”
She emphasized the importance of engaging with individuals within the community, noting, “I love how you’re reaching out into the communities.”
Streets of Growth, inspired by the methods of Roca, a violence prevention program in urban areas, was visited by the Prince and Princess of Wales during their time in Boston last year. More about their Boston visit.

Speaking with frontline workers, the royal highlighted the need to understand the underlying stories of young people, stating, “It’s crucial to see beyond their external actions to their personal histories.”
She linked her efforts in early childhood to her current focus, stressing the importance of proactive engagement with families and young people to prevent crises.
The Princess interacted with mothers and daughters, participating in creative workshops where they crafted jewelry and shoes.

The Princess responded, “It’s wonderful to see an organization that involves the entire family in such a supportive manner.”

During a mental health workshop, the Princess joined a podcast session with young people discussing topics like social media and body image.
She also met with actor Eddie Marsan, the charity’s patron, and participated in a photo session, including a selfie.
