Exciting details have emerged about the upcoming visit to Boston by the Prince and Princess of Wales.
- The royal couple’s three-day tour begins on Wednesday with their arrival and concludes at the Earthshot Prize Awards on Friday, December 2.
- During their stay, the Prince and Princess will explore a climate technology incubator, engage with a youth-focused non-profit, and delve into Boston’s climate resilience strategies. The Princess will also visit the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University alone, while Prince William will tour the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.
- This year, the Earthshot Awards are in collaboration with the John F. Kennedy Foundation, a fitting partnership given the inspiration Prince William drew from President Kennedy’s ‘Moonshot’.
- The awards celebrate global environmental innovation, offering five £1 million prizes to initiatives that address critical goals: protecting nature, purifying air, rejuvenating oceans, eliminating waste, and repairing our climate. The Boston journey marks a significant moment for the Prince and Princess, their first international trip since assuming their new roles, and a crucial chance to generate global enthusiasm for the Earthshot Prize.
Hannah Jones, CEO of the Earthshot Prize, shared with The Telegraph: “We aim to establish a worldwide brand, and we’re just one year into this journey. It’s remarkable how much momentum we’ve already built. Think of it as a flywheel effect. After all, Rome wasn’t built in a day.”
Many will remember the last U.S. visit by the Prince and Princess of Wales in December 2014.
The couple spent three days in New York, attending a dinner for the Royal Foundation, enjoying an NBA game, and visiting the National September 11th Memorial and Museum. (See the Cyber Monday section of the post for details on 50% off the Seraphine coat worn by the Duchess in the photo below.)
The Duchess visited a child development center in Harlem, and the pair attended a fundraiser for the University of St. Andrews.

Kate and Prince William, who last visited the U.S. in 2014 for a New York City tour, are “both extremely excited for the visit,” a source close to the couple tells PEOPLE. “They feel and appreciate the warmth and excitement of the American people for their return to the U.S. and are really looking forward to meeting as many folks as possible.”
