The Princess of Wales showcased a beloved Alexander McQueen gown at tonight’s BAFTA awards.
Marking their first BAFTA appearance since 2020, Prince William, who has presided over BAFTA since 2013, joined the Princess.
A brief video captured the couple’s arrival.
Tonight’s dazzling ceremony took place at London’s Royal Festival Hall. People magazine reports, “This year, the event moved to a new venue, previously held at the Royal Albert Hall since 2017 and before that, at London’s Royal Opera House.” Here, the royals are seen conversing with BAFTA chair Krishnendu Majumdar.
The Princess shares a moment of laughter, likely in response to a comment by Prince William.
The couple engaged with attendees, including the Academy’s Rising Star award nominees, a recognition for young actors who have shown exceptional talent and begun to captivate the British public, according to BAFTA.
Emma Mackey, this year’s winner, conversed with the Princess following the ceremony.
The evening also included a tribute to Queen Elizabeth, featuring Dame Helen Mirren, as detailed in Vanity Fair.
Post-awards, the royals mingled with attendees and winners, including Alison Hammond, one of the evening’s hosts.
The Princess was seen with various winners of the night.
Highlighting her attire, the Princess donned an updated version of the Alexander McQueen gown first seen in 2019. The gown’s left shoulder was modified by removing the floral petals and adding extra fabric.
Cate Blanchett also recycled a dress from a previous event, wearing a Maison Margiela gown first seen at the 2015 Oscars.
The Princess accessorized with opera-length gloves, possibly chosen to match Prince William’s attire, suggested by Middleton Maven.
Further details on the Princess’s fashion choices are available in The Telegraph by Bethan Holt.
The evening concluded with the Princess wearing Aquazzura Fenix pumps and carrying a Celeste clutch by Jimmy Choo, complemented by Zara’s Cascading Flower earrings.
