The Princess of Wales visited Bath today to participate in an event for Mental Health Awareness Week.
During her visit to Bath, located about 90 minutes west of London, the Princess stopped by the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust to learn more about their initiatives.
The Dame Kelly Holmes Trust pairs world-class athletes with young individuals, helping them develop a winning mindset and prepare for future challenges. This unique approach not only enhances their relationship skills and self-esteem but also teaches them to remain focused and confident.
A brief video captured by Rebecca English shows the Princess’s arrival.

During her visit, Kate engaged with young individuals supported by the charity, founded in 2008 by the double Olympic gold medallist. The organization believes in the power of having a champion for every young person, pairing them with athletes to help overcome confidence and other personal challenges.
The Princess has a long-standing relationship with Dame Kelly, having been seen together at various events over the years, including the London 2012 Women’s Hockey bronze medal match. They were also both guests at last week’s Coronation.
Today, the Princess met with students from St. Katherine’s School in Bristol, who are part of the “On Track To Achieve” program, mentored by Paralympic gold medallist Liz Johnson. This program supports young people aged 11-19, particularly those facing social, emotional, or mental health challenges, by providing them with a positive role model.
The Princess engaged in discussions with the students about the challenges they face and explored potential solutions to help them cope with daily life.
Further insights are shared in an article by the Daily Telegraph.
“She was lovely,” Dame Kelly remarked about the Princess. “She encouraged us to ask her questions too. When I inquired about her children, she shared how each of them has unique traits and needs, highlighting the importance of understanding and addressing these differences among all children,” Dame Kelly added.
The visit also included a fun outdoor activity of noughts and crosses (tic-tac-toe), where the Princess participated enthusiastically but was bested by Dame Kelly’s team.
